M is for MANGOS!!!
This weekend was our Fruit Grower's Annual Mango Fest! Can you say YUMMMY! Since we love the mango...and our council of course, Brian and I were on hand to make about a gazillion Mango smoothies and juices for all the mango-y goodness munchers! It wasn't all work though because we indulged on some of the yummies too. My favorite was the Mango ice cream, but it was right up there with the mango salsa, the mango chutney and of course all the taste testing of all the varieties.
So...as I said we were the chief beverage dispensers! Brian was the king of the smoothie and I was the juice maid. We had a great time and we were so impressed with the turn out. AND...Brian was famous again! He was interviewed and quoted in an article that came out in today's paper. Read it here.
Even the little guy got in on the fun. Here he is sharing a little of that super tasty mango ice cream with Grandma - who, along with Grandpa, came to our rescue when the smoothie/juice operation got in to full swing.
M is for MOUNTAINS of sewing projects!
I have to say that right now, I have been totally hit with sewing projects with deadlines. Sometimes those keep me right on track but other times, I feel like I need more time to think. But...usually it turns out for the best because I just go with it and the results are some my favorite pieces. ANYWAY...right now I have a diaper bag and sling order, birthday gifts for two of the sweetest little nieces around, a birthday gift for the best sister a girl could ask for, craft a package for the favorite things swap...and three gifts for the Crafty Pay it Forward(more on that tomorrow). WHEWWW...I'm thinking late nights will be happening this week.

In the meantime...I finished up this little beauty. I have to say that in comparison to sewing a bag this size it sure seems like it took FOREVER...even though in all reality it wasn't that long. I guess that's the nature of crochet...it will teach me patience! This is the fat-bottom bag from Stitch and Bitch Nation's The Happy Hooker. I actually think I'm wearing out the library's copy of this book so I might have to get my own soon.
M is for MOVIES ...I finished up the new bag while we watched Pan's Labyrinth...if you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it! It's kind of a weird mix of a childhood fantasy story and a story set in Spanish war times of 1944. It made for a great flick though! Be aware sub-titles and crochet don't mix...but it was only the first half
hour for me!
Also...still blushing after this MENTION! Jody you're so kind. It was so great to meet you and your son! Looking forward to seeing you both, and the rest of the family, again!
MORE...fun info coming soon...but now it's off to bed for this Momma!
