What you've all been waiting for

I know everyone is at the edge of their seats just waiting to see what the bamboo flooring and new wall color looks like in the office. (I could tell from the absence of comments on the -stop procrastinating and teasing us- post about the bell bottoms).Oh and let me apologize in advance for some of the blurry pictures. Do you know how hard it is to shoot pictures with impending rain and those huge windows? Well...you'll see. OK, OK ...on with it already...

SO...I present to you...THE NEWLY RENOVATED...EVER SO SOPHISTICATED...UNCLUTTERED...AND OH SO FUN TO HANG OUT and RUN LAPS IN...(yes, I know get to it!)
OFFICE

New_office_011
Shall, I give you a tour my friends??  OK, if you insist...
New_office_007 As you enter the serene space you are greeted by a Brian H original piece of artwork as well as a ever growing collection of kid related books. Feel free to learn how to make rollercoasters, play with dry ice or find out why "My Monster Mommy loves me so' as you enjoy the flowing colors and textures of this untitled beauty.
And now onto our next item of interest...the chalkboard! As you see it now takes on a much sleeker, and school room appearance.

Bamboo_flooring_pedros_party_038 OH...and look-y here...we have a visitor on the tour. This is our resident artist in training that will be displaying random masterpieces daily. (looks like the previously mentioned Papa sized artist helped out with this one just a tad.)

New_office_004 Next stop is the pleasantly plump bookcases surrounding the not so pleasantly plump desk. We absolutely love our 'library' of books (see our stacks before and during sorting here and here) and their prominent placement around the desk. With the new paint job though we are contemplating getting or building a new desk that is a little less weighty and lighter colored.

New_office_013 At this point in the tour, let me ask if anyone needs a quick break...would you like to put your feet up for a moment? Well, you're in the right place! The ever so versatile and comfortable hand-me-down, as close as we get to a recliner, has been added just for those of you who would like to sip tea and watch the summer rains outside this beautiful bank of jalousie windows. Also, if you tire of watching the wee one run laps or are in need of a cozy reading spot for the millionth board book today...it would work well too!..oh and don't mind the somewhat unfinished shelf of goodies behind you...that's why the chair isn't facing that way...so stop looking!

And now that brings us to the end of our journey for today. For those of you who have actually made it to the end and have been courteous to my cheesy tour guiding abilities ...We'll leave you now to oogle at just a few out-takes from the making of this treasure. (and don't forget...you can see all of these and a few more at our flickr page)

Thanks so much for stopping by...hope you enjoyed the tour...come back soon!
