Play Dough
The other morning we were working on some Mother's Day gifts and Dex was having a lot of fun crafting. SOOOO....after nap we whipped up a batch of Play Dough! He had a great time. I think he played with it for about an hour. Too bad we had to pack it up so we could head to Grandma's. I bet he would have played even longer. Well maybe I should say WE would have played longer.
I used a combination of recipes off of Recipezaar.com so I don't have a direct link, but from the looks of the other recipes they are pretty basic. Our batch was a little dry, but maybe that's because I didn't really follow directions! :)
If anybody out there has a great play dough recipe, please share it. It would be good to make another batch to have a few more colors. Thanks in advance!

Oh how fun!!!! My first recipe I haven't tried yet but its on my list.
Peanut Butter Playdough (kids can eat it)
Equal parts of:
Powdered Milk
Honey
Peanut butter
and a little bit of flour
I'm just not sure if I want to let them eat playdough. I could be starting something bad.
My Favorite recipe is Kool-Aid Playdough
21/2 cups of Flour
1/2 cup of salt
2 pkg. unsweetened any flavor Kool-Aid
3 Tbs. oil
2 cups boiling water
Mix the dry ingredients in large bowl. Add water and oil and mix again. Let cool. Use your hands to mix again.
This is so cool to make the kids love to smell it. It's cheaper to buy Kool-Aid then all the different colors of food coloring!

I've been meaning to make playdough and found edible playdough recipes. Rather than post them all here, I added them to one of my blogs: http://mycreativeoutlets.blogspot.com/2008/06/making-dough.html . Let me know if you try them, ok?
