Last week for Fun Day Friday, I told Dexter that we could go to Target to look at the Halloween stuff. Ever since we got a tiny little catalog of costumes in a magazine last month, he has been so excited about Halloween! I guess I should have known since last year he carried around the Halloween Express catalog for weeks and weeks.
So...off we went to check things out! We had a long discussion before hand that we were not going to be buying anything...just getting ideas. He did rather well on that one and only had to be reminded a few times that it wasn't time to buy a costume just yet. (especially since I got the exact costume he wanted last year at a Consignment store for a fraction of the retail cost!)
You should have heard the gasp and squeal that came out of this boy as we rounded the corner. I've always thought Halloween is fun, but have never really been 'in' to it that much....not sure where this kid gets it from. Maybe it's because we now have an outdoor movie at our house every year for Halloween. It's so fun!
...ok back to Fun Day non-shopping.
Don't you just love the new light boxes? Those little 'try me' buttons are the best. Seriously, you could waste a good half hour just going through there trying out every box! And then there's all the other stuff with the 'try me' button...oh....we saw all kinds of crazy stuff...shaking skulls, moaning witches, spooky stuff. This boy loved it all!!
Dexter was a little disappointed that they didn't have the mass quantities of costumes like the other store did, but he got over it as soon as he saw what he was looking for. After another friendly reminder that we were not purchasing today when he promptly grabbed the Iron Man costume, we had a lot of fun trying on a few things....
...and laughing at the sheer amount of pet costumes!!! REALLY there were as many animal costumes as there were for babies!!
No worries...we already have something for Bender :).
THEN...of course, a trip to the Halloween section just wouldn't be complete without a quick inspection of the CHRISTMAS lights...seriously people!!
After all that fun, a major meltdown upon leaving, a late much needed nap, and a yummy dinner out with Grandma and Grandpa FL, we brought another Fun Day Friday to a close.
...after this week too, we have decided that we will be switching our fun day to ...Thrilling Thursdays! (note the previously mentioned major meltdown and late much needed nap!)
