It's been a while since I wrote a 'real' post here in this space!!
Well, it's time to be honest....I'm a little bit quite a bit of a procrastinator, coupled with a slight bit of a perfectionist (HA).
With that said....you will understand, maybe, that there are all these times that I'm doing something else and think of a great post....then think....I'll do that later. THEN, later rolls around and I think...hmmm....don't really have enought time to make that just the way I want.
SOOOO....here is my solution. I'm going to try REALLY hard (like even setting a calendar reminder and everything :) ) to post one day of the week with a 'thinking thoughts' type of post, a stream of consciousness rabbling of whatever falls out of my head at the time. A Brain Dump as some may call it. No real story line, just stuff. No worries...I will try to include pictures!
...........with no more procrastination....let's get to it!!
** I'm home today with both of my boys. Dexter is home from school with a stomach bug and he and Emerson are thoroughly enjoying having extra PJ, TV and snuggle time with me and each other.
** I've been doing a ton of up-cycling lately!! and it's been so fun!! Like these pants for the boys out of an old baby blanket, sheet and another pair of ladies shorts.
I've been using an awesome kids pants pattern from MADE! It's super simple to make and gives just the right amout of height in the front and back of the waist, which I've always had a problem with. The pattern is a size that's right inbetween my boys so I just added a little in length for Dex and took a little off for Em. PERFECTION!
** I also made 4, yes FOUR, shower curtains from a painter's canvas dropcloth! A simple cream curtain is great for our bathroom and the savings was a bonus. $30 for the 12 X 15 foot drop cloth made each under $8 for materials and very little time in sewing. BUT REALLY, the fun part was spreading the huge piece out on the lanai floor and cutting and manuvuering huge chunks of fabric. As an added bonus, Brian's office mates have a grommet machine and we were able to use it for a more finished look instead of just plain sewn button holes!
** My big boy turns 5 on SUNDAY!! WHAT?! How can that be!
** Spring Break was last week and we had a blast. Leisurely time schedules, planning picnic lunches and extra fun outtings....what's not to like!
- Starting the fun with banana shakes at Chic-fil-A on Friday afterschool
- Outdoor movies at the Botanical Gardens with friends
- Blasting off in custom build rocket ships
- Giggling uncontrollably at the talking giraffe on Papa's IPad
- Three park visits in one day, including hide and seek amongst gigantic tree roots
- peering at and petting horseshoe crabs and baby alligators...or were they crocs?
** I've found a new online time suck....yup, as if facebook wasn't enough...there is now Pintrest! It's essentially, a visual bookmark site where you can grab and share your favorite online images with links with others. SOOO fun! Lots to see, share and get inspired by. I really love the inspirational posters, sayings and style ideas. OH and we will not forget the witty and laughing images. ...like this one.....GET IT?
** Just hung the first load of 'sick' laundry out on the line. OH how I love her disinfecting and brightening ways!!
**So excited to teach my all natural (and frugal) house cleaning class for our local MOPS group! My bins are all set with recipes and supplies for all purpose cleaner, window/mirror cleaner, laundry soap and tub and tile scrub.
** Liking this format since I can write something quick...walk away to the kiddos and then come back later without really loosing the flow or lack there of. I guess it fits perfectly with my mom schedule and ADD ways!
Wishing you all a great Hump Day! What will you be doing this weekend?? and how is this format for you?? Is more info better than just pics even if it is disjointed and choppy?
